Google Testing New Versatile Screenshot Tool for Chrome

Google Chrome is Testing a New Versatile Screenshot Tool, a powerful screenshot feature modeled after Microsoft Edge.

If you have used Microsoft Edge, you’re probably familiar with the immensely useful ‘Web Record’ tool. It allows you to capture certain browser portions and copy or modify them using Windows Ink.

Google is working on a better built-in screenshot editor for its Chrome browser. The new tool is available in Chrome’s Canary test version.

According to the source, Google Chrome will offer a superior screenshot feature to Microsoft Edge. Users can only select the region they wish to screenshot with the Microsoft Edge web capture screenshot function.

The new Chrome feature, on the other hand, lets you add and resize it in a variety of ways, including circles, squares, arrows, and line drawings.

Is Chrome Testing a New Versatile tool better than Microsoft Edge?

Google has added a screenshot tool to Chrome for Windows 11, 10, macOS, and Chrome OS.

Although this appears to be comparable to Microsoft Edge’s Web Capture capability, the tool is far better than Microsoft Edge.

How is Chrome Testing New Versatile Screenshot Tool differs from Microsoft Edge?

The Web capture screenshot tool in Microsoft Edge allows you to alter the snapshot using the Windows Inking capability.

On the other hand, chrome’s screenshot tool, which is part of the Share menu, opens your screenshot in a new window with numerous editing capabilities.

Change the size of the brush, type of brush or pen, color, add text, and more with chrome’s screenshot tool. The screenshots can even be cropped within the browser.

While Google began testing the screenshot editor last year, the project is far from finished, and the corporation is still developing the tool.

Conclusion

Chrome is experimenting with a new screenshot tool similar to the one found in Microsoft Edge. It is considerably better than Microsoft Edge as it contains more features while using a screenshot.
