FCC Urge to Remove TikTok from App Store

TikTok is one of the most viral visual social media apps. So it allows you to make and share short videos and share them with the world.

Federal Communication Commission (FC) regulates USA and international Communication. It is an independent agency of the United States of America.

Brendan Carr is the present commissioner of the FCC. Berdan Carr has written a letter to remove TikTok from the app store.

Letter From FCC Commissioner

Mr. Tim Cook, the chief Execute officer of Apple Inc, and Mr. Sundhar Pichai, Chief Executive officer of Alpha Inc (Google), got a letter from Brendan Carr to remove TikTok from apple and google play stores.

In this letter, he asked these tech giants to either cut off TikTok from app stores by July 8 or explain why they did not plan to do so.

TikTok Users in Google and Apple PlayStore

Apple and Google are safe and trusted OS and app stores to discover and download any app. Google has around 3.48 million apps store. Apple has more than 2 million apps.

Bytedance owns TikTok and is one of the Chinese apps. More than 4.6 billion people on earth are TikTok users.

Why does Brendan Carr want to Remove TikTok from App Store?

  • India banned TikTok on June 29, 2020. The Indian government claims that TikTok and other Chinese apps illegally use data. Chinese apps secretly collect information from people’s phones when they are downloaded.
  •  He wants to remove this social media app from google and Apple play Store for surreptitious data practices. That is to say, TikTok harvests swaths of sensitive data that new reports show being accessed in Beijing.
  •  American Army and Navy have banned TikTok.
  •  Security experts blame these Chinese social apps and collecting personal data.
  •  TikTok regular users increase their digital footprint. Therefore significant risks such as being more prone to phishing attacks and stalking.

How to solve the problem

The future of TikTok is not predictable. Its user has to see what happens next. The peoples are unknown of the cold war between China and the United state of America.
